Breakdown

The Textile Workshop provides a bespoke solution for the breakdown of costumes to fit the designer’s brief. This can include hand painting, distressing and dyeing to create an authentic costume for the camera. The Workshop has the capacity for anything from individual to medium volumes of costumes.

Project: The Nevers
Louisa was head of the Costume Breakdown Department over two seasons, working firstly for Costume Designer Jane Petrie and, during the second season, Michele Clapton. Louisa was responsible for supervising the print, dye and breakdown areas.

Project: Heart of Stone
Multiple principle characters (and lots of repeats!) needed breaking down, under instruction from Costume Designer Julian Day. Bullet marks, stab wounds and salt marks were just some of the breakdown effects we used to help tell the story. From the studio in Hastings.
